Russia’s Mail.Ru Grp satisfies 20% of requests to delete Web links
MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Mail.Ru Group has satisfied about 20% out of 2,000 requests to delete links to unreliable information in the Internet since January 1, when the law on the right to be forgotten in the Web came into force, Andrei Kalinin, head of Mail.Ru Group’s search system development, told reporters Monday.
The country’s biggest search engine Yandex received 3,600 requests as of the end of March from 1,348 people asking to delete links. The company satisfied 27% of the requests.
U.S. giant Google received 1,463 applications from Russia as of the end of March to delete 6,464 URL-addresses with personal information, and 26.3% of them were erased.
